About MaplePoint System
How MaplePoint System Ltd grew from Manchester merchandising rooms into a focused practice for inventory sell-through rate dashboards.
Official name and founding
MaplePoint System Ltd is the registered business name behind this site. The practice was established in 2016 in Manchester, after two of our founding consultants spent years sitting in weekly merchandise meetings where sell-through lived in three conflicting workbooks.
A short history
Early work began with apparel wholesalers who needed intake-week sell-through tied to regional store clusters. Word travelled through buying offices: we were the people who would argue about return windows and transfer timing before drawing a single chart. By 2019 the desk had a steady rhythm of commissioned inventory sell-through rate dashboards for mid-size GB retailers and catalogue brands. Through the early 2020s we stayed deliberately narrow — sell-through, cover, and markdown readiness — rather than sprawling into every retail metric under the sun.
How we work
We start on the floor or in the planning room, not in a blank template. Definitions are written in the language your buyers already use. Builds are fixed-fee after discovery. We hand over a view your team can defend in a Friday trading call.
People
A small Manchester-based team of merchandising analysts and visualisation craftspeople. Engagements are led by a named consultant who stays through handover — you are not passed between anonymous project queues.
Values we keep visible
- Prefer one trustworthy sell-through definition over ten decorative charts
- Write change logs when measures move
- Respect that stock decisions affect people on the shop floor
Community
We occasionally host short open readouts in Manchester for planners who want to compare how different houses treat intake dating. Details appear in Field Notes when a date is set.
